Under normal circumstances…
Absolutely loads goes on in Brackley and Buckingham – and Brackley & Buckingham online Post exists to promote events and businesses in Brackley, Buckingham and surrounding villages. This is a strictly non-commercial service, all listings are free, the site exists purely to support local clubs and businesses; anyone who suggests we have any other agenda is wrong. We’re not journalists so don’t expect sensational headlines and in-depth reporting!
To encourage larger attendances at events locally we decided to expand the coverage to include Buckingham. The aim is to ensure the two communities don’t get split by HS2 and also to advertise events in both towns to both communities. So welcome to the new larger B-BOP (Brackley & Buckingham online Post!)

With the nice weather, if you go walking in the countryside please
remember to close gates behind you. There have been reports of sheep
on roads which is dangerous for both sheep and driver. It also wastes
the farmers’ time. And please keep dogs on leads and stay on
footpaths, there are lambs around.
Finding Funds with FundingCentral
We know that lots of local organisations have used the FundingCentral website to search for funds for many years. The National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO) has facilitated this. They have now ended this support. Fear not, because there is a new kid on the block – My Funding Central. This is a similar facility that is provided FREE to small organisations (annual turnover up to £30,000) and at a very reasonable price for medium-sized organisations – for pricing details, Click Here.

Made by Sport – Clubs in Crisis for UK sports clubs
Grants of up to £2,021 are now available for grassroots sports clubs and organisations across the UK which support young people to develop life skills, employment opportunities, reduce crime and anti-social behaviour or tackle mental health issues. Clubs and organisations must be able to demonstrate that the Covid 19 Pandemic affects them operationally or financially. Grants can be spent on core costs as well as on programme or capital costs. Organisations with an annual turnover of £75,000 are ineligible to apply. The fund is now open for applications.

Covid-19 specific funding information
This is the first e-Bulletin for over a year where we have no notifications of new special Covid relief funds. This doesn’t mean that there is no relief available. Many such funds are on-going and anyone can contact our funding advisor Jeanette for full details and advice.
There will almost certainly be further funds for Covid relief announced in the coming months and we will of course include them in our bulletins. In the meantime this is a welcome announcement that we are able to mak just as we tentatively emerge from lockdown.

Now you can download Buxplore from Google Play
Eight months after its launch, Buckingham’s very own heritage exploration app Buxplore has been used by a fantastic 2,700 people and to celebrate, the app will now be available to download from the Google Play store. The community project was created by Buckingham Town Council working with local schools, the Old Gaol museum and the Buckingham Society, supported by funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
Buxplore is a fun and interactive heritage exploration app and all app routes can be completed by walking around Buckingham. Lots of users have told us that a trip out trying Buxplore has livened up their daily exercise. You can also use Buxplore from home using ‘virtual mode’ if you are self-isolating.
