Data Conversion

Raster-to-Vector
Our technicians specialize in the accurate conversion of digitized paper maps, orthophotography, and satellite images into vector formats for ease of storage and manipulation in the GIS environment.

AM / FM / GIS Mapping
We build custom automated maps of your facilities and assets using off-the-shelf software from ESRI, MapInfo, and Bentley or using your own proprietary mapping system. Global Mapping also integrates maps with IT and Internet technology to extend map access across your client's enterprise.

Paper Records
We scan any size paper documents for migration into a digital database. Specialized filter routines remove smudges, creases, and other relics from source documents.

Data Updating
To update existing digital databases, our team obtains recent source material, typically satellite images, to incorporate current land-use and land-cover information.

Insurance / Flood / Parcel / Tax Mapping
We have extensive experience and skill sets for the creation of digital map databases of property parcels for insurance, flood, and tax mapping applications.

Computer-Aided Drafting

Photogrammetry

Orthorectification
Global Mapping uses PCI's OrthoEngine and APEX-V7 for orthorectification of both aerial photographs and satellite images to produce map-quality ortho images.

Aerial Triangulation & Adjustment
Global Mapping uses PAT B for AT adjustments.

Stereo-Compilation
Our production facilities are equipped with both analytical and softcopy stereo-compilers. Data compilation is accomplished in both MicroStation and AutoCAD on Zeiss P-33 and DATEM's IMA and Summit Evolution.

DTM Generation
In preparation for orthorectification of air photos or satellite imagery, we obtain the source material to extract digital elevation models. Masspoints, breaklines, and contour interpolation features (CIP) are collected and processed in specialized software from PCI Geomatics, Canada, to generate digital terrain models.

Cross-Section and Linear-Section Generation
Cross-sections of corridors are generated from 3D data for the design of highways, pipelines, and powerline rights-of-way using SCOP.

Remote Sensing

Aerial Photography / GPS Survey Control
Through a network of aerial firms, we can assist in planning airborne and GPS ground surveys to meet your mapping specifications.

Image Processing
Our remote sensing staff turn satellite imagery from all current series of satellites, (Landsat, SPOT, SPIN, IRS and high resolution data) into valuable
geospatial information.

Satellite Imaging
Global Mapping has relationships with all major satellite operators, including Russia, and can schedule new acquisitions or obtain archive data over your specified project area.
