Making A Purchase


Making a purchase of a map could not be easier. Just browse our shop, and add to basket the map/s you wish to buy, be sure to select the correct format if there is a choice (for example, paper map or encapsulated map). This will then take you to your basket. Then you just click proceed to checkout to complete the order and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to satisfy the order.

We accept Visa, Mastercard, Switch, Electron, Amex, Solo and Paypal.
Diners Club are not accepted.


Shipping And Handling


Shipping charges depend on type and weight of map products ordered and delivery location. For UK orders only, Free delivery is offered on all orders of value £50 or over. This covers the total product cost including VAT but does not include the delivery charge.


Delivery Schedule


Your map order is generally dispatched within 48 hours, however please allow longer for framed maps as they are manufactured to order. UK orders for maps are normally delivered within 7 business days . International orders for maps are generally received in under 14 days. For a product to be sent ‘next day’, the order must be placed before noon Monday to Friday. Wall maps are rolled and sent in tubes so the postman might leave it with a neighbour or take it back to the sorting office if you’re not there to receive it. You may wish to consider having a tube delivered to your work place to ensure someone is there to receive it.

Note. Deliveries to Northern Ireland, Scottish Highlands & Islands, Isle of Man, Isles of Scilly and Channel Islands can take longer and may not be possible on 24 hour turnaround. That’s not to say we won’t try though!

We use Royal Mail 1st Class service, Royal Mail Parcels and Parcelforce to deliver our products. Be aware that map tubes can take longer to go through the postal system-probably because of their shape.

For overseas delivery, maps over 900mm are likely to incur an additional postage charge. Please contact us for details.


Packaging


To protect your wall map, when we roll it up we wrap it in some scrap paper which can often be an old map. Don’t be concerned that we have stuck sellotape to your map! We haven’t, this is the paper wrapping, your map is safely protected inside.


Back Orders


If your item is not in stock, we will back order for you. You will always be emailed with the option to cancel your order if you would rather not wait for your map.


Tax Charges


Where appropriate VAT at 20% will be added to the order, you will see this on your checkout total. Note that maps and guidebooks do not attract VAT in the UK but posters and map data do.


Credit Card Security


All credit card numbers are encrypted in the software when the order is placed using 128 bit SSL encryption. They are only decrypted after they reach our computer. They are not held in clear text on any web site.


Guarantee


We appreciate that you can’t ‘handle’ our map products like you could in a shop so we guarantee you a full refund if the map product you order from our map shop doesn't meet your expectations.

Privacy Policy


Global Mapping Ltd do not disclose buyers' information to third parties. Cookies are used on this shopping site to keep track of the contents of your shopping cart once you have selected an item. Your email address is used to send you confirmation of your order which will include your receipt. We send out occasional newsletters with details of offers (a maximum of 12 i.e. one a month although in reality it is less than this) Should you not wish to receive our newsletters you can email us at any time and request your name is removed from our database.


Returns Policy


Software products delivered on sealed CDs, such as the CityMaps on CD or MAPublisher, may only be returned for a refund if the sealed package is intact. Should the medium be defective or damaged we will replace it, but we are not able to offer refunds once the package has been opened. We also reserve the right not to accept custom map or atlas products for return.

Although we promise to do all we can to achieve delivery deadlines, we like others cannot give any guarantees, on this basis claims for consequential loss against Global Mapping will not be accepted.

All orders for maps and atlases will be dispatched within 48 hours following cleared payment being received.

If you need to return a product, please include the delivery note stating the reason for return.


Christmas Deliveries


Christmas is obviously very busy but we will always try to help you get your map on time so as a guide here are our suggested last order dates:

  • Framed Maps-December 7th
  • Encapsulated Maps, Globes- December 18th
  • Paper Maps and Guides-December 21st

If you order after these dates please call us first on 01280 840770and we will Endeavour to fulfil your order. For example, in the past we were able to take a framed map to Manchester on Christmas Eve, but we can’t always promise that level of service!
