Brawn One-Two at Monza

Brackley based Formula 1 team Brawn GP gained yet another win at the weekend, the only difference being Rubens Barrichello coming home first with team mate Jenson Button having to settle for second. This one two was the seventh win for the team this year which puts them in an almost unassailable lead in the constructors championship and also means another plaque on the hoardings at the entrance to their factory! Fair Comes to Town


The Funfair came to town last week and judging from the numbers that attend and decibal level is obviously very popular for a large number of people. The downside is the disruption it causes-limiting parking for shoppers which has the knock on effect of a drop in sales for our shopkeepers who are facing difficult times and the number of nails left scattered in the car park on the Sunday Morning. Tell us your opinion-is the fair a good thing or not?
Local Band Star at Wallingford Bunkfest
Brackley based Darrell Mitchell and the Occasional Orchestra played on the main stage at the annual music festival in Wallingford last weekend. They are regular performers in Brackley and further afield in Northamptonshire and Oxfordshire. Their latest album Japeeza has received airplay in France and Russia and is ‘under consideration’ by the BBC! For more details go to www.japeeza.com
Italian Market on the Piazza
Sunday morning some life in the town centre for a change as the Italian Market made its annual visit. There was a steady flow of folk during the day supporting the event and a special mention to The Crown who had tables outside offering coffee and light refreshments. The market was organised by the Carnival Committee.
CHARITY EVENTS
There are two events this Saturday we are aware of , both of which would welcome your support.
The first is raisning funds for Alzheimers Society and consists of walking around St.James Lake. It's on between 10.30 and 5.30pm so lets hope it stays dry and there's a good turnout.

The second is being held Saturday evening at Waynflete Hall, Magalen College School
Itis a concert in aid of the Meningitis Trust and features the Full Jazz Orchestra, cabaret andto finish the evening dancing to 'Feels Like Friday'
