Aquila Hash House Harriers

Hashing is a worldwide form of non-competitive cross-country running with a high emphasis on the social side. Hashing originated in 1938 when ex-pats working in Kuala Lumpur started running to keep fit following a trail similar to a paper chase. Jumping forward to the year 2000 there were 1570 known Hashes in 184 countries.
We run in the countryside in Northamptonshire, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire once a week, on a Sunday in winter and on a Wednesday in the summer. Each week one member of the Hash, the Hare, chooses a location and sets a trail laid in sawdust for the rest of the Pack, the Hounds, to follow. The distance of the run can be anything from 3 to 6 miles depending on how cruel the Hare is feeling!
As Hashing is non-competitive it makes it an ideal way of keeping fit for people of all ages and abilities, you will never be left behind to find your own way back. We also have a walking section for people who can’t run but like a bit of fresh air and exercise.
If you would like to join us and see what it's all about then either E-mail, phone or text me and I will let you know when and where the next trail will be.
